There is a workaround in the official Skype forums and an unanswered question on Super User about that topic. I've tried for_window floating enable, but this doesn't seem to have any effect on these windows. Now I know that this is probably not an i3 problem, but maybe you guys have an idea on how to fix it. I am able to see some notifications if I receive enough in a short amount of time to make them stack over each other (shown as "Skype B" and "Skype C"). It's especially annoying if the notification being displayed is an incoming call, because there doesn't seem to be any other way to accept it than clicking on that notification. The invisible Skype notification ("Skype A") is shown in dark grey. In my case, it appears in the 300-pixel gap below the external screen. The problem is: It does not check whether there is actually a monitor displaying that part. When Skype displays a notification window, it appears at the lower right corner of the (virtual) screen.
Quick Tip: You can also right-click the Action Center button in the Taskbar to turn on or off Quiet Hours on Windows 10.On my laptop, I'm using a dual-screen setup, with the internal LVDS being the primary screen and the external screen to the right of it and placed slightly above. Once you finish your presentation, you'll to need turn off Quiet Hours manually using the same steps mentioned above to see toast notifications again.
However, you can use Quiet Hours to prevent notifications from appearing at the wrong time. If you're giving a small presentation and you're not not using the second screen, then the above steps won't work. How to disable notifications while presenting onto a single screen If you're extending or using only the secondary display, the notifications will continue to flow. This option will only work as long as you connect using the "Duplicate" option when projecting (Windows key + P). Once you completed the steps, every time you are giving a presentation and you're connected to a projector or secondary monitor, Windows 10 will not show notifications.
